Iryana Pahlavi

Her arrival brought both happiness and renewed emotion to a family that had experienced the tragic loss of Prince Alireza. Iryana is also the niece of Reza Pahlavi, Crown Prince according to the title used by the Pahlavi family. She has three older cousins: Noor Pahlavi, Iman Pahlavi, and Farah Pahlavi, the children of Reza Pahlavi and Yasmine Pahlavi. The Pahlavi family has lived largely outside since the Revolution of 1979, when the monarchy was overthrown and the Islamic Republic was established.

As a member of the next generation, Iryana represents a younger branch of a family whose history remains significant to many and to people interested in history. Because Iryana was born and raised in the United States, relatively little is publicly known about her private life. Her family has generally kept personal details about her childhood and upbringing away from extensive public attention. It is therefore important to distinguish between documented information about her family background and speculation about her personal life.
