Isfahan Christian Hospital

Ernest Christoffel was a German-born person who brought money from Sweden, Switzerland, and Germany to Iran to help blind, deaf, mute, and orphaned children fulfil the wishes of his friends and people. He first went to Urmia in 1304 AH and established a school for the blind there. Then he went to Isfahan to join the charity movement of Christians. The first radiation therapy (radiotherapy) was performed in this hospital in a building that is currently used as the Social Security and Medical Organization on Abbas Abad Street. There, a hat with radioactive materials embedded in it, called an Israeli hat, was put on the heads of baldness patients to be treated. But this method was abandoned due to skin cancer.
