The Off-White show was very much aiming for spectacular, with a huge chandelier suspended low over a white carpet catwalk opposite a sound system embedded in clear Perspex boxes. Rihanna sat in the front row in a pink Diesel coat, and the line-up of models was impressive: Cindy Crawford and her daughter Kaia Gerber, Helena Christensen, Amber Valletta, Bella Hadid, plus tennis star Serena Williams. The show was divided into two sections: ready-to-wear and a new “High Fashion” bespoke collection. The chandelier and the sound system represented the tension between the traditions of haute couture and Abloh’s own design codes, which have melded streetwear, tailoring, graphic design and product design.
