Maloma with a mini-scarf at Paris Fashion Week

For ready-to-wear, there was a mix of tailoring, sexy partywear and skiwear, which had elements of the ‘00s, and a dash of The Matrix. Accessorised with exaggerated riding helmets, female models appeared in tiny, backless crystal-studded dresses, sparkly miniskirts and crop tops worn with visible logo knickers, and knitted dresses paired with moonboots. Leather combat trousers and biker jackets provided a futuristic element, while men’s tailoring came with a twist such as a sparkly harness worn over the top of a blazer, or crystals on a grey jacket worn with a faux fur coat. And then came the collection dubbed “High Fashion”: 28 bespoke looks billed as “haute couture” in inverted commas, which, according to the show notes, “can be read as the manifesto that accompanies his democratic and inclusive fashion revolution”.
