Pari Samar, opera singer

At the opening night of 1973-74 artistic seasons, Mussorgsky’s “Boris Godunov” was presented in stage production by Enayat Rezai, conducted by Maestro Manrico de Tura. The title role was sung by Nicola Ghiuselev. Polish bass, Edmund Kossowski was dignified as monk Pimen, the chronicler. Pari Samar appeared as Marina Mnishek, a daughter of the Polish Voyevoda Jerzy Mniszek from Sandomierz and the Russian Tsaritsa, insigneted to marry the imposter under the name of Gregory Otriepiew, the false Dmitri I, who claimed to be the youngest son of Ivan the Terrible, the Tsarevich Demetrius.
