Pioneer of Modern Arts

Hadi Marzban (born April 24, 1944, in Sabzevar) is a prominent theater director and actor whose career spans more than four decades across theater, cinema, and television. He holds a bachelor’s degree in acting and directing from the University of Tehran (1973) and a master’s degree in directing and design from the University of London. Marzban is also the recipient of a first-class artistic degree, the equivalent of a Ph.D. in the arts. Marzban began his artistic journey in 1966 with theater acting, a field in which he would later become one of respected directors.

His entry into cinema came with the film The Forester, directed by Manouchehr Haqqaniparast, marking the beginning of his on-screen career. He continued his cinematic work with the 1980 film Iblis and reached a significant milestone in 1998 by starring in Aharin Tak Savar, one of his more notable film projects. His most recent cinematic appearance was in Bachahay Abdi, directed by Pouran Derakhshandeh. Marzban has also been active in television, where he gained his first experience in 1983 through the series Shah Shekar.
