In an accompanying statement, President Carter said, “Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished. She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me.” On Wednesday, an intimate funeral service limited to family and close friends was held in Plains, Georgia, and hosted by Maranatha Baptist Church — where Jimmy taught Sunday school for many years after his presidency.
