These film performances helped bring traditional vocal techniques to a wider, more popular audience, allowing people unfamiliar with classical music to experience its beauty in accessible and memorable forms. Iraj was widely respected not only by audiences but also by fellow musicians. Many masters of Persian music have referred to his voice as a “standard” against which other singers are measured.
He remained deeply committed to the classical heritage of music, preserving its structures while infusing performances with individuality and feeling. After the 1979 Revolution, Iraj—like many artists of his generation—experienced a period of limited public activity. However, his reputation never faded. In later years, he returned to the stage for special performances and concerts, which were received with great admiration and nostalgia.
