These films are celebrated for their visual poetry, psychological insight, and cultural resonance, qualities that have inspired filmmakers and artists across and beyond. Despite his acclaim, Beyzaie faced political and institutional obstacles throughout his career. After the Revolution in 1979, his teaching position at the University of Tehran was terminated, and some of his works were censored or banned.
In 2010, Beyzaie accepted an invitation from Stanford University in California and became the Bita Daryabari Lecturer in Studies. There he continued to teach, research, and stage both theatrical and scholarly projects, fostering global appreciation of Persian theatre, cinema, and mythological traditions. Lifetime achievement awards from cultural institutions and film communities.
