By the late 1950s, he began performing professionally, quickly attracting attention for his clear, resonant voice and heartfelt delivery.

Aref’s rise to fame coincided with a golden era of pop music. His charismatic stage presence and emotionally rich performances made him one of the most celebrated artists of the time. His performances often leave listeners moved, creating an intimate connection between artist and audience, whether in a concert hall or through recorded music. Following the 1979 revolution, Aref continued his career abroad, performing for Persian communities worldwide.
