The community in exile was hungry for familiar voices, for music that reminded them of home. Leila became that voice. Her first post-exile albums were a success, and she soon established herself as one of the leading female singers of pop music. Her concerts attracted thousands of fans, and her songs became anthems of nostalgia, love, and resilience for around the globe. Leila’s music evolved beyond the boundaries of Persian pop. Her 1997 album, “Planet of Harmony,” was a landmark in her career — an ambitious multilingual project that featured songs in English, French, Arabic, Turkish, Greek, Armenian, Italian, and Persian.
The album symbolized her vision of unity through music and reflected her cosmopolitan identity as an artist who belonged to many worlds. Her later albums, such as “From My Heart” (2012) and “60 Golden Songs”, showcased her maturity as a performer, with powerful ballads and upbeat dance tracks that continued to resonate with new generations. Even after more than five decades in the spotlight, she remains active, performing live and releasing new music — including the 2025 single “Shekveh.”
