[custom_adv] Veteran filmmaker and actor Iraj Qaderi died after a long illness at Tehran's Mehrad Hospital early morning on Sunday. He was 77 years of age. Qaderi made his acting debut with a cameo role in "The Crossroads of Events", directed by Samuel Khachikian in 1954. [custom_adv] He began studying medicine in a university in Tehran. However he left his study unfinished and joined the cast of "The spring of Water of Life" in 1959. [custom_adv] He then worked as a producer for "The Cobweb", "Dead End", and "Sear of the Scandal", which all were written by writer and poet Ahmad Shamlu. He made his directorial debut in 1966 in "Leilaj". Qaderi directed over 60 films, in most of which he acted, before the victory of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
