Born in Achrafieh, Beirut to a Lebanese father and a Palestinian mother, she grew up in Elissar, in the Matn District. She learned music at a young age, however, she avoided to sing in front of her parents at home. From 1990 and until 2005, Tawaji studied in Athenee de Beyrouth School and got her BA in French literature.
