Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa (1933–1999) was the Emir of Bahrain from 1961 until his death in 1999. He was a key figure in Bahrain’s modern history and played a central role in guiding the country through major political, economic, and social transformations. During his rule, Bahrain gained full independence from Britain in 1971, marking a defining moment in the nation’s sovereignty.
