woman remembered fondly at intimate vigil service

Shahbazian was reported missing by Windsor Police on January 7. On March 21, Windsor Police stated that her body was recovered, and that foul play was not suspected in her death.  Shahbazian moved to Canada from Iran two years ago, and began working at Kim’s Nails and Spa. Kim Lam, owner of Kim’s Nails and Spa, says she’s been in contact with Shahbazian’s family about bringing her body back.

A moment of silence was held at the gathering, followed by a round of applause in her honor — a gesture that friends said Shilan would have appreciated, as she preferred to be celebrated rather than mourned in silence. As the candles flickered outside the spa, a quiet sense of community filled the space. Neighbors who had never met before stood side by side, brought together by the impact Shilan had left on their lives. Some shared laughter through tears as they remembered her jokes, while others simply held each other, finding comfort in shared grief.
