Coming from a well-educated family—her father an economist and her mother a doctor—Tahmina was encouraged to pursue excellence from an early age. She began her education at the Malika Sobirova Music School in 1989, revealing an early interest in the arts. Her family later moved to Moscow, where she continued her education before returning to Dushanbe. Though she initially enrolled at the Institute of International and Regional Relations, marriage at a young age shifted her academic path.
