This connection symbolized a generational legacy of women in performance — each contributing to cultural identity in her own way. Despite her advancing age, Soleimani remained active well into her eighties, continuing to appear in film and television projects. However, in her later years, she struggled with health complications, including heart and respiratory issues, and a brain tumor. She passed away on June 1, 2009, at the age of 86, in Tehran.
Helped shape the identity of Iranian cinematic realism. Represented the voice of ordinary women with compassion and grace. Served as a role model for persistence and professionalism in a rapidly changing cultural landscape. Her funeral was held with great respect at the Artists’ Section of Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery, where she was laid to rest among other luminaries of art and culture.
