As we honor Hassan Roshan today, we do not mourn what we have lost — we celebrate what we have gained: a legacy that will endure forever. His name will continue to echo in stadiums, in training grounds, and in the hearts of all who love the game. He showed us that football is more than just sport — it is art, it is heart, it is life.
And in that spirit, Hassan Roshan lives on — an unparalleled legend of football, and an eternal symbol of greatness.
Rowshan began playing in youth football early, being recruited by Taj (now Esteghlal) youth team when he was about 13. During his time with Taj / Esteghlal, he achieved major domestic successes, including winning the league (Takht Jamshid Cup) and the Hazfi Cup. He had multiple stints with Esteghlal, returning in mid-1980s and retiring around 1988. Rowshan had the distinction of being the only player (pre-revolution years) to score in four major international tournaments: the World Cup, Asian Cup, Olympic Games, and Asian Games.
