A Lifetime of Passion, Pride, and Perseverance

He was known for his skillful play: speed, dribbling, tactical intelligence, good positioning, and his ability to find the net even under difficult circumstances (such as injuries and tough opponents). His performances often came in high-pressure games — derbies, qualifiers, international tournaments. His goal in the Tehran derby as a young player (a winning goal) was one of his early signs of spotlight. When he retired from playing (mid/late 1980s), Rowshan devoted himself to developing young talent. He established the Hassan Rowshan Football School.

Rowshan’s career bridged a pivotal era in football — before the 1979 Revolution — when had some of its greatest successes regionally and was pushing onto the world stage. His spirit, passion, and achievements have made him a role model for many younger players who followed. His ability to perform on big stages, often in the face of adversity (injuries, political change) adds to the respect and admiration he holds. Off the field, the way he worked for youth development and remained connected to football post-playing career shows his dedication to giving back.
