Gholam Reza Pahlavi was buried at Thiais Cemetery in Paris, beside the tomb of his mother, Queen Turan Amirsoleimani. His burial place thus became a final resting place connecting him with his mother, from whom he had been separated from his father, Reza Shah, at an early age. Among those attending the funeral was Farah Pahlavi, the former Empress and widow of Gholam Reza’s half-brother, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. His death received attention among members and supporters of the former royal family, as well as in accounts of the history of the Pahlavi dynasty.
Gholam Reza was also known for his participation in official ceremonies and state functions during the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah. As one of Reza Shah’s sons, he held the title of Prince and was part of the extended royal household. However, his position within the royal family was distinct from that of the Crown Prince and other senior members of the dynasty who were directly involved in matters of succession.
