By age 13, he was already performing with National Orchestra of Radio and Television. Traveled across to absorb different regional styles — Kurdish, Khorasani, Turkic, Persian classical — which shaped his eclectic approach. The political upheaval and personal tragedies (losing his family in a missile attack) shaped his decision to leave. Studied in Rome and later at Carleton University in Ottawa, deepening his knowledge of Western classical music while maintaining Persian traditions.
Encountered other traditions, which later influenced his cross-cultural collaborations. Worked with Mohammad Reza Shajarian and Shahram Nazeri, two of greatest vocalists. His unique kamancheh sound began appearing at major world music festivals. With Shujaat Khan and tabla maestro Sandeep Das — a groundbreaking Indo-Persian fusion. Co-founded Masters of Persian Music, bringing classical music to new international audiences.
