When learning how to become a writer, it’s important to address some of the expectations that many new writers hold. It’s helpful to understand that earning from writing fiction can be inconsistent. Early career writers usually have other jobs to supplement their income until they build experience and their ideas see success. Some writers earn through freelance work and writing contracts, while others focus their writing energy on their fiction projects and work office jobs in the meantime. Whichever route you choose, remember that earning from writing can involve a lot of rejection which doesn’t necessarily reflect your writing ability.
