Becoming an immigration officer is an entry-level position without an established education requirement. You can begin the process of becoming an immigration officer by working for at least one year in a federal service position. This would be an assistant-level position at a government or military branch with a lower federal grade level than the FDNS. However, you can bypass this one-year work requirement if you get a four-year degree.
