The couple can be seen laughing and speaking with the actor from photos and video of the event. However, eagle-eyed fans have been quick to notice one other detail during Tom and Kate’s interaction. While descending down a series of steps at the premiere, Tom extended his hand to help Kate safely make her way down the steps, which she accepted. (It’s worth noting that her flowing dress had a train which swept along the ground, introducing the risk of tripping).
For those not in the know, this actually breaks royal protocol: as a rule, people shouldn’t touch members of the Royal Family unless they invite touch or extend their hand first. However, Kate accepted the gesture in good grace: which fans have suggested is a sign of her good-natured personality. The Prince and Princess of Wales are willing to attend a premiere only if the film in question celebrates the human spirit.
