A composer is someone who writes music professionally. Often, they use special forms of musical notation to create musical scores, which musicians use to perform the pieces. Their compositions often feature instructions for multiple instruments or vocal ranges and denote important aspects of a song, like melody, chords and tempo. They may write music for orchestras, bands, choirs, ensembles or solo artists. Sometimes, multiple composers work together to write a piece of music, like popular music bands that write original pieces.
