Their father, Behzad Farahani, is a well-known actor and playwright, and their mother, Fahimeh Rahimnia, also came from a background in the arts. It is no surprise that both sisters pursued acting — but their journeys have taken them in very different directions. Shaghayegh Farahani, the elder of the two, has remained and built a respected career in cinema, appearing in films such as Leila, Café Setareh, and The Trial. Her performances are subtle, powerful, and deeply rooted in the context of storytelling.
