Due to the political and legal constraints placed on artists, meetings between Golshifteh and Shaghayegh are rare and deeply emotional. While Shaghayegh still resides, Golshifteh has not returned to her homeland since her departure. As a result, when the sisters are able to meet whether in a neutral third country or through private, personal moments — it becomes more than a family reunion: it becomes a symbol of the divide between exile and home, between what is said and what must remain unspoken.
