Ancient Egyptians worshiped cats and believed that cats would be lucky for the families they live with. Bostt, a goddess of the house, cat and cattle or a woman with a cat’s head, was depicted. The cats were sacred and everyone who was harmed to them was sentenced to death. Ancient Egyptian families mourned shaving their eyebrows for the death of their family cats.
