At first glance, Rory and Elie might seem a bit like the odd couple. He’s 57, she’s 37; he’s from Israel, she’s from Atlanta; he’s the expressive designer for the company; she’s the efficient head of p.r., marketing and advertising. But together they’ve made the Elie Tahari label, which was founded in 1973, a tremendous success. Rory says that since she joined the company in 1998, it’s gone from $50 million in yearly revenue to $500 million.
