Karaj Dam, also known as Amir Kabir Dam, is one of most significant and picturesque dams. The Amir Kabir Dam was built between 1956 and 1961 during a period of modernization. It was named in honor of Amir Kabir, the 19th-century reformist and statesman who championed education and progress.
