A dedicated educator, Ghanbari believed in the power of music to shape culture and character. He taught for many years, mentoring students who would go on to become accomplished musicians in their own right. To support his teaching, he authored several educational works including Zarb Ava, a comprehensive book of traditional tasnifs (melodic pieces), and collaborated on Tanboor Playing: An Account by Amir-Nasr Eftetah—a detailed study of another iconic instrument.
